Indias largest realty firm DLF on Thursday said it has given Rs. 1,450 crore contract to Australian construction firm Leighton to build a magnificence housing project in Gurgaon. Leighton Welspun Contractors has been awarded the major contract to build the super magnificence housing growth The Camellias for DLF at Gurgaon valued at Rs 14.5 billion, DLF said in a statement. Leighton Welspun Contractors Pvt Ltd is part of Leighton Group, one of the worlds largest EPC & contract mining organisation. Its Indian operations commenced with the first contract in 1998. The Camellias will occupy about 16.15 acres & a tentative built up area of approximately 4.5 million square feet. The project will have 429 flats, including 14 penthouses. The construction will commence in the third quarter of 2013 & will be completed by third quarter of 2017. In order to expedite the delivery of projects, DLF has decided to outsource the construction to third parties.
