Donald Trump is just about to launch his newest business venture, the Trump Network. A network marketing company in the health and wellness niche. The Trump Network is designed to make people healthier with customized vitamins and nutritional supplements, and to encourage individuals to become entrepreneurs and to take control of their financial future. But will it turn out to be a scam? Or will it be a good opportunity?

The launch of Trump Network is officially in October 2009 and spokesmen for Trump Network claim that top network marketing people are getting in line to sign up and leaving their current stable, successful income with another network marketing company to become a part of this phenomenon.

As time of writing this article the Trump Network is still in pre-launch. It is no secret that people tend to think that the people at the top in network marketing makes all the money, hence they assume that pre-launch is a fantastic place to be. A great opportunity to join Trump Network just before the official launch and get in on the action before it even starts. If you follow this argument you are somewhat right, its a great opportunity if you get people beneath you and those people actually build their business AND consumes the health supplement, remember you are only going to get paid if your downline consumes the product.

The fact that Donald Trump is going in to the network marketing arena seems as no big surprise. If you had been following him lately you would know that he co-authored a book Why We Want You to be Rich with Robert Kiyosaki (the author of the bestseller Rich dad Poor dad). They argue a great deal for the concepts you find in the network marketing industry. Both gentlemen actively endorse the network marketing industry, Donald Trump is actually specifically endorsing one company and putting his reputation on the line to do that. Just know that the company, a telecommunications company, is a good company and that the network marketing industry is a good place to be theoretically. Its pretty obvious that Donald Trump wouldnt recommend a specific company if it was not a great company in a great industry.

However, everything you have heard in regards to people losing a ton of money in network marketing is most likely true. Only about 3 % ever get their MLM business in profits, which are tough odds and an uphill battle. However there is hope, the reason the statistic is so low is due to the ineffective marketing techniques the network marketing companies generally still teaches to their distributors.

I will bet you that the success rate in Trump Network WILL NOT be any better. People might think that Mr. Trump is the founder and he is a great businessman and try to sell the opportunity on Mr. Trumps brand. Actually, that is exactly what he does;

The techniques you are going to be taught in Trump Network are the exact same B.S. that other network marketing companies teach their distributors. How can I be so sure? These techniques works out great for the company, they make a ton of money (remember the 97% failure statistic). When Donald Trump got his best people to run a background check on the company, his financial advisor came back to him with a financial statement report that blew him away. Its pretty obvious that Mr. Trump wants a piece of the action, but you dont have to support the company by failing. You still have time to educate yourself. You can start off with the proper know-how on how to create a successful marketing funnel, how to make a system that is guaranteed to work and create a striving Trump Network business when it launches in October 2009.

Buy A Franchise Business Or Join A Mlm Which Is Smarter

This is a question I believe a lot of people are asking themselves these days in America. There are so many people out there looking for a plan B, and not a lot of people really know what would be the best option for themselves. I am writing this article because I have a lot of experience in both scenarious.. I am the owner of multiple locations of two different franchises, and have served as a franchise advisory board member and advertising advisory board member for Palm Beach Tan, the largest tanning franchise in the country. I am also building a multi-level marketing business (or network marketing business), and my team is spread throughout the country, with people in almost every state in the U.S. I will argue the pros and cons of both options, AND I will let you in on a few secrets I have leaned the hard way that are absolutely critical to being successful in both situations.
Lets start with buying into a Franchise.
Here are some advantages:

1. Proven Business Model: There are many benefits to buying into a franchise, but the most popular is theoretically being able to open a business with a proven business model. The statistics show that about 80% of businesses fail within their first few years, but the chances of a franchise business failing is closer to 20%. The franchise percentages are skewed quite a bit though, because a franchise is much easier to sell, so what ends up happening is a failing franchise might go through two or three owners before it actually shuts own. The existing owner always has good excuses why it is failing and the new owner always thinks he or she is the savior and will be able to turn things around.. Sometimes the franchisor will take over the location to delay the inevitable because the last thing that want on their Franchise Advisory Ciurcular is store closures.. (they are generally in the business of selling franchises)

2. Help With Start-up: You get a lot of help starting your business and running it afterward. Many franchises are, in fact, turnkey operations. When you buy a franchise, you get all the equipment, supplies and instruction or training needed to start the business. In many cases, you also get ongoing training, and help with management and marketing. Your franchise will reap the benefit of the parent company’s national marketing campaigns, for instance.

3. Marketing and Branding: When you open up a new location that’s part of a franchise with a strong brand you are able to do SO MUCH more than other new business who is not part of a franchise. For example, if you open up a new Subway in your town, and if you did not do ANY advertising at all people would still walk into your location and buy sandwiches. (Unless your location was in a back alley where nobody could see you!) AND the budget you allocate toward advertising and marketing is much better spent for two reasons: One, you’re not throwing spaghetti against the wall to see what sticks – your franchisor should guide you on what works and what doesn’t. Two, your marketing: direct mail, business to business, radio, TV, etc. will be much more effective because people recognize the Subway brand and will open up your mail, or listen to your ads.

4. Buying Power: Your franchise will benefit from the collective buying power of the parent company as the franchisor can afford to buy in bulk and pass the savings along to franchisees. If you are an independent company you can except to pay more for inventory and supplies then if you are involved in a franchise.
Here are Some Disadvantages:

1. Royalties and Ongoing Costs: Most people don’t realize how much of your gross sales you really pay out every month to the franchisor, and other vendors they are partnered with. Traditionally royalties begin at 4% of gross sales and end up at 6% by the third year in operation. Next you will have a 1% advertising cost that goes toward branding advertising admin costs. They will probably force you into an advertising co-op which will be about 4% of gross. You will have some type of point of sale computer monitoring monthly fee for around $500. And don’t forget a lot of franchises have some type of reimbursement program for customers visiting multiple locations with gift cards and coupons. After all this is added up you end up spending about 11-13% on fees and group advertising. Even if you backed out 4% for the ad fund co-op since this is driving traffic to your business, you are still forking out 7-9% every single month! That adds up – trust me. It will be anywhere from $20,000 to $130,000 per year for small businesses, depending on your sales and fee structure!

2. Their Way or The Highway: The main disadvantage of buying a franchise is that you have to do it their way – sometimes right down to the way the napkin holders are filled. As a franchisee, you are not the one actually running the show, and some franchisors exert a degree of control that you may find terrible. In many cases a franchisor will enforce a policy that might work well for the majority of franchisees but it does not work well for some – it can actually cause a major cash flow crisis for some owners but the franchisor will not budge and actually force people out of business. (Trust me this happens I have actually seen it happen within my own franchise)

3. Ongoing Support? Not all franchisors offer the same degree of assistance in starting a business and operating it successfully. Some are just start-up operations and everything after start-up is up to you. Often times the franchisor promises ongoing training and support that just doesn’t happen.

4. Shark-Infested Waters: Buying a little-known, perhaps inexpensive franchise can be a real gamble. Just because a business is offering franchises is no guarantee that the franchise you buy will be successful. In some cases, franchising is the business; all the franchisor is interested in is selling more franchises. Whether or not the individual franchises are successful is irrelevant to them. This is not to say that no little known, inexpensive franchises are worthwhile, but just a reminder that any franchise you’re thinking of buying needs to be investigated carefully. Remember the franchisor is in the business of selling franchises, so be very fastidious!
Joining an MLM or Network Marketing Company.
Advantages:

1. Low Start-up Cost: The typical start-up cost for a network marketing company is around $200-$500, and with many companies you can actually get started for as low as $35, or even free. However, if you enroll for less than $50 you are usually not eligible for commissions until you upgrade or order some product or the service.

2. Unlimited Income Potential: More millionaires have come out of the MLM industry than any other industry – multi-level marketing is actually the most pure form of capitalism. An average person can literally go from being broke to making six figures a month if everything falls into place. If somebody gets in on the ground floor of a company before it hits the momentum stages, he or she is being mentored by a top leader, he or she is an extremely hard worker and does not give up easily, and he or she is an influential person (or he/she has built up an online influence) then it is only a matter of time before he/she builds up a massive residual or passive income.

3. Personal Growth Training: The network marketing business model works the opposite of the corporate world, where it’s dog eat dog. In network marketing all the top earners are usually the best teachers, not the best sales people. In order to get to the top of the pay scale you are required to have many people in your organization promoted to the top tier positions. For example, if some big shot decided to get involved in an MLM and the only strategy he used was to spend a truckload of money on advertising and personally enroll hundreds of marketers he would make some good money doing that, but he would probably not reach the top position in the company that way. Most compensation plans are designed to develop leaders. The leadership and marketing training that you gain in MLM is priceless for future endeavors.

4. Passive or Residual Income: When somebody builds a successful network marketing business they build an income generating asset that produces cash flow every month for work previously performed. If you wanted to have $5,000 a month in passive income risk free you would need over $1 million in a CD or other high yielding risk free account. I actually sold my first MLM business to another marketer right after I graduated college and used the money for a down payment on my first house. (It was producing a monthly cash flow, which turns it into an asset you can potentially sell)
Disadvantages

1. It is not get rich quick: Some people are attracted to network marketing because it is presented to them as this magical formula where all you have to do is sponsor three people who sponsor three and so on, then you have have this massive organization below you after three months that is bringing in $10,000 a month. Yes there are some occasions where people get in with a new MLM and have a large database of people they can tap into and they build a large income very quickly. It usually takes at least 1-2 years before decent residual income starts coming in.

2. Many choices: There are so many different MLM’s out there with all of their distributors claiming they “have the best product ever invented” and nobody else can compete with their company. One of the main reasons there is so much negative press around MLM is the competition between the different MLM companies cause marketers to bad mouth one company to make their company sound better. What this does is give the impression that MLM in general is bad, when in reality that is just not true. You can not believe everything you read online about a particular company, so you must do your own investigation before you join.

3. Must be self-motivated: You don’t have your franchisor out there doing radio and TV ads to promote your business, or a franchise compliance division coming into your store making sure your operation is running smoothly and efficiently. (not all franchises do this either, but you get the point) Your success is truly determined by how much effort you put into your business.
Which is the Better Way to Go?

This is the question you can only answer yourself, but please keep in mind a few lessons I have learned along the way:

-The franchisor is in the business of selling franchises so, again, be very careful. They have sales people who make anywhere from $2500-$5,000 per franchise location they sell. So this salesperson’s one main objective is to get you qualified and locked into a location.

-You MUST talk to as many owners as you possibly can about how they are really doing. Get numbers. Do not listen to the franchisor because they will stretch the truth about everything.

-If you can find an MLM company that is in the beginning stages, has some type of a marketing edge over everyone else (so you don’t have to go out and talk to everyone you know about the business), and has a powerful team of leaders you can directly work with and be mentored by, then I would think very seriously about choosing this path. Having the opportunity to start and own your own business for usually around $500, with the potential for cash flowing five figures a month in passive income in a relatively short period of time is much more enticing to me than risking hundreds of thousands of dollars on a franchise that is usually much riskier than people realize. However, if you do decide to join an MLM company make sure you do the research to find out if you will be with a rapidly growing company and will be personally mentored by top leaders in the company.

When I first heard Donald Trump was starting a multi-level marketing company I thought, here we go again, Donald Trump is going to prey on a bunch of simple, naive people who will buy into all the hype and probably end up getting burned. We all know Mr. Trump likes to make money, money, money, money! So, Im thinking, what is his plan with this Trump Network launch? He must be just promoting this company, or letting them use the rights to his name for a certain period of time for a big pay check, or some type of royalties. Is he really entering the MLM world??

The answer is an astounding YES. Anybody that has read all of Donald Trump’s array of books or been to an event where he was a guest speaker, then you would probably know that he has always been a big admirer of network marketing. He was actually giving a speech 5 years ago and someone in the crowd asked him what he would do if he had to start all over, and he said I would get into network marketing. Of course that brought a few chuckles from the crowd. Then do you know what he said? A few of you might be laughing, but you know what? Thats why youre down there and Im up here! True story.

Donald Trump has never been politically correct, and he has also never been someone who gets to the show late. He has made many risky moves over the years that has had people cringing down at him thinking he was crazy. But in the end most of his moves have ended up making him look like a genius. He has literally helped transcend areas of New York City with some of his risky real estate moves, arguably the most powerful city in the world.

After hearing about Mr. Trump entering the MLM industry I did a little research and found out that the Direct Selling industry is a $32 Billion industry in the U.S., over $100 Billion worldwide, and not ONE company has more than 5% market share!! Not even Amway! What does this mean? This means that there is a serious opportunity for a company to come in and take over a large portion of the market. In almost every industry there is usually a few major players who dominate the market and build barriers to entry for its competition. Theres Ford, GM, and Chrysler. Theres Nike, Adidas. Theres General Mills, theres Proctor and Gamble, theres Microsoft, Dell, Apple. I could go on and on

The one thing there has never been in the network marketing world has been a brand name. Anyone that understands true marketing understands that branding is EVERYTHING. Once you build an influential brand, bringing new products to market is a completely different game than it is for the company that does not have that brand presence. That other company must spend MUCH MORE money and time promoting their new product or service in order to have a successful launch.

I dont think anyone in the world could mobilize the network marketing industry, give it the credibility and the exposure that Donald Trump could. The MLM industry is a very competitive industry and that is the main reason why there is so much bad press out there, but when you look closely at it, all the companies in MLM have different products or services, but they all have ONE thing in common: they are promoting an opportunity to earn an income building an organization of people selling that companys particular product or service. So who better than Donald Trump to be marketing a new business opportunity that anyone can get involved in and have unlimited earning potential? When you really think about it MLM companies are selling the ability to become an entrepreneur and own your own business. And Donald Trump is a worldwide icon of Capitalism and the poster child of an Entrepreneur.

I know that Donald Trump is VERY protective of his brand so I would be willing to bet that he did some serious investigation before taking the leap into the MLM world and putting that brand at risk. According to some executives over at the Trump Network, Mr. Trump and his team looked closely at 26 companies before they chose to partner with Ideal Health and re-launch as the Trump Network. Ideal Health is a twelve year old company that specialized in one main product line for ten years: customized nutracueticals based on metabolic functional testing. They use the premier metabolic functional testing lab in the world, Metametrix Labs, based in Atlanta, GA. Yes, they are another health and wellness company, BUT they have a unique line of products that are actually priced much lower than you would be able to get them through a natural path doctor or nutritional specialist. The master plan is to launch many best of breed products over the next few years that fall into the Trump criteria of quality.

The most compelling reason however, that I believe the Trump Network will end up taking up some significant market share is because of this new Wealth Creation System they are launching in the middle of May, 2010. They have created a system that I believe will transform the network marketing industry forever. This will not be an industry where the only people that can be successful are people with a huge power of influence and/or a huge database of people to tap into. The most difficult part about this business has always been getting enough people exposed to your opportunity, and being able to invite those people to take a proper look at the business so they can make a sound decision.

Donald Trump and the Trump Network have created a system called The Wealth Creation System that will give the average person, who may not have a huge network of people to talk to about the business, the ability to get massive exposure and funnel those exposures into a professional sales funnel that gives professional presentations and plugs new marketers and customers into a training and education platform seamlessly.

The reason I know this system will work and will explode peoples’ businesses is because of one thing and one thing only: The Trump Brand. Because of this new system, getting enrolled in the Trump Network will be more like buying into a franchise, instead of rolling the dice and spending your time and energy in a typical network marketing company with no brand recognition. I own multiple franchise locations with two separate successful franchises myself, and the reason we were able to be profitable right out of the gate was because we had a strong local brand already established, so when we opened our doors people recognized our name and came in. But more importantly, when we send out direct mail pieces and do radio and TV campaigns, our potential customers open the mail, or listen to our ads, because they know who we are. This is why several mom and pops have closed their doors around me over the past 6 years. They cannot compete.

Most people that are involved in the network marketing or direct sales industry do not understand the power of branding and marketing. Even if they have been successful and have huge organizations they have built these organizations with serious dedication, hard work, and a lot of time. The reasons I have outlined above are why this company will dominate the MLM world and become a powerhouse people will build organizations in one to two years that took several years to build in other MLMs. Do you realize how much time and money has been spent on opening up different countries as these other network marketing companies have gone international? MASSIVE AMOUNTS. As the Trump Network expands into other countries, the marketing strategies will be so simple compared to other MLMs it is almost laughable. Trump is heavily branded in 18 countries and he is revered as one of the greatest entrepreneurs of all time. When this company goes international toward the end of this year GAME OVER. I just hope all the people out there who are smart and savvy, but might not quite yet understand the power of branding and marketing, dont miss out.

Direct Sales Is One Of The Best Ways To Make Big Money

There are many ways to make big money on the Internet. I personally have found direct sales to be one of the best ways to make money online and make alot of it. Why do I say that?

1. Higher commissions. Companies are willing to compensate you for your efforts at a higher commission rate than you can make in other ways.

For example, Primo Vacations is a big ticket direct sale opportunity. You earn $500 on every $697 sale you make. This works out to over a %70 commission rate.

Some companies will cut checks directly to you. In the Primo Vacations example you are your own business owner and the money is paid directly to you on a completed sale.

There are examples of high commission rates in other business models such as affiliate marketing. In many ways selling other people’s products as an affiliate marketer is a direct sales approach.

ClickBank is an example of an affiliate program where you can earn up to 75% commissions selling ebooks. The downside to this is these are not really big ticket items, so you have to make more sales to really make big money.

2. You are in control. People who want to have control over their income love direct sales opportunities.

You are not worried about blogging every day. You are not worried about adding new web pages. If you can get focused on selling direct sales is the way to go.

There is no doubt the direct sales is one of the best ways to make big money if you promote the right product. Look for big ticket items that will pay you commissions of $500 or more and you can make a lot of money.
