Brief History of Red Ribbon Bakery

Red Ribbon Bakery, or popularly known as simply Red Ribbon, is a Filipino-owned bakery and a professionally-run business network. Red Ribbon specializes in selling different kinds of cakes, pastries, and other food products such as lasagna, deep fried chickens, carbonara, palabok, and the all-time Filipino favorite dish, spaghetti.

Red Ribbon started as a hobby-induced business in Quezon City along Timog Avenue in the 1970s that first specialized in providing different kinds of cakes and pastries. After their success in delivering great tasting cakes for Filipinos, the owners decided on expanding their success from another country.

Red Ribbon opened their first US branch in 1984, in West Covina, California, where Filipino expatriate commonly congregate.

After their success on serving Filipinos and foreigners alike in California, Red Ribbon focused on franchising. The business started their franchise on 1999 that also expanded the popularity of Red Ribbon in the Philippines. This gained the attention of the ever so popular Jollibee Food Corporation.

In 2005, Red Ribbon was acquired by Jollibee Foods Corporation, a conglomerate of popular fast-food chains in the Philippines. With its acquisition, Red Ribbon entered a new phase in its company history. The company will soon become the biggest and fastest-growing bakeshop in the Philippines. Its mission is to bring the joy of eating to everyone through its great-tasting food and superior quality.

Now there are two kinds of bakeries that every Filipino can choose from. Its either from Goldilocks or the Red Ribbon Bakery. Each specializing in providing the best taste of cakes that every Filipino in the world craves for.
